This expansion is a prequel to Four against the Great Old ones, since the heroes are peeking beyond the veil of sanity and normality for the first time, and advantages gained in Dawning Horror can be transferred to the main game in the form of Upgraded Investigators. It can be played with Investigators from the base game, Carcosa Rising, or from two brand new classes: the Archaeologist and the Redeemed Cultist.
