Mary Stuart, Queen of Scots (2022)

Mary Stuart, Queen of Scots is a set-collection card game set in 16th Century Scotland after the sudden death of King James V. Factions are converging to seize power to gain fame and fortune by controlling the young queen, the Royal Court, Scotland's estates and their resources.

Each player assumes the role of a powerful Lord or Lady, attempting to make their faction the richest and most influential in Scotland. Players manage Scottish estates and diplomatic relationships with France and England, produce resources and create wealth, and attend the Scottish Royal Court to influence and control state actors and events from Mary's life. The game is played in one or two Acts which cover specific timelines in Mary's life.

The goal is to have the most points at the end of the game. Players accumulate points for their estates and resources, for their influence and control over the characters of the Royal Court, and by being the first to complete any of an Act's four events. Wealth is needed to attend the Royal Court, and estates are needed to create wealth. Players must balance developing their estates with influencing the Royal Court while adjusting to the actions of fellow nobility.
