| Mechanics: | Solo / Solitaire Game, Storytelling |
A solo soccer storytelling game.
Experience the last minutes of the last match of a grueling soccer campaign, the glory or the heartbreak of an all-or-nothing result. Ten minutes plus stoppage time remain. All still to play for.
It is the 80th minute . . .
To play you will need:
10 to 20 minutes
two 6-sided dice
a standard 52 card deck
a 20-sided die (or pen and paper)
some way to narrate the events as they unfold on the pitch
Flip a card representing a minute of time and roll to see if your team has the grit to weather the late pressure, if the referee is going to add more time.
Narrate the play on the field (for a radio, blog, or newspaper audience) based on prompts tied to each card.
If the last card is discarded before a goal is conceded, your team wins the title (or avoids relegation, or qualifies for the World Cup)!
