Cruise your canal boat around "the cut": the English and Welsh canal and river system that connects Rippon to Reading, London to Llangollen, and Bath to Bradford. Your journey will be slowed by long canal tunnels and spectacular flights of locks. Chance events may hold you up, hinder other players, or speed you on your way as you race to be the first player to visit three destinations before returning to Start to be crowned King of the Canals. Two different ways of playing are possible: "The Canal Exploration Race" where players race to visit the same three, randomly chosen, destinations before returning to the start to be crowned "king of the Canals"; In the more strategic "Collectors Game" players travel to three different locations collecting as many canal brasses as they can before returning to the start. In both versions players throw a die and move their boat. If a six is thrown an event card is taken, read and followed. Sections of the canals with lots of locks, tunnels, moored boats and bends slow movement - so choose your route carefully. —description from the designer
