This French edition of the root game is a special edition which includes the base game and its expansion Riverfolk. Root is a war adventure game in which players take on the role of one of four factions and fight to become the most powerful ruler of the vast Forest. Root is a game that is played and told like a story. Players drive the narrative, and the differences between each role create a significant level of interaction and gameplay. Are you ready to fight for control of this vast wilderness? PROGRESS OF THE GAME The game has the particularity of taking place in several rounds, themselves divided into 3 very distinct phases: Dawn The day Twilight During his turn, the player completes these three phases in order. Their turn then ends and the player to their left begins theirs. The three the phases are different depending on the faction played. A game can end in two different ways: A player scores 30 victory points A player complicit in a Domination card Each faction scores points in its own way: The Marquise de Chat wants to exploit the Forest and use its abundant resources to fuel her economic and military empire. She scores points by constructing buildings in the Forest. The Canopy Dynasties seek to regain the glory of their former aristocracy and take back the Forest from the Marquise. They score points each turn by building and protecting perches in the Forest. The Forest Alliance wishes to unite the people of the Forest to rise against oppressors. She scores points by spreading sympathy for their cause throughout the Forest. The Wanderer seeks fame in the midst of this burgeoning conflict. He scores points by completing quests for the denizens of the Forest and helping or hindering other factions.
