Great Northwest Territories is an exciting, commodity driven worker placement game set in the Hudson Bay area in 1670s. The player's small trading companies will compete to build up the settlement, explore the wilderness, trade manufactured resources from Europe amongst themselves and the indigenous tribes in the region, to gain furs and other locally produced commodities, such as maple syrup and artwork. There is a market where the price of goods rises and falls according to supply and demand. Players will have to fulfil contracts with the ships at port and the indigenous tribes. Doing so to gains a player victory points, as do building new key buildings in the community. The player with the most victory points wins the game.
