You have come across a seemingly uninhabited mountain hut in the Alps — and stepped into the middle of a mysterious criminal case. Die geheimnisvolle Hütte in den Bergen is played in a team of 3-7 people, one of whom takes on the role of the game master. The game master tells the crime story and guides the other players step by step through the adventure and the puzzles using the game master's booklet. They know the solution to the current puzzle and can decide whether to give the players hints or not. It's even possible to switch the game master from puzzle to puzzle, giving everyone a chance to solve puzzles as the game progresses. Many of the puzzles are designed to spread information evenly among players. To solve these puzzles, the co-operation of all players is mandatory. The game ends when the players have reached the exit of the mountain hut. The time elapsed up to that point and any penalty minutes result in the final score.
