Beschreibung
曇天/斬合 Legend (Donten no Kiriai Legend) is a Japanese card game for one or two players. It was originally published as 曇天/斬合 (Donten no Kiriai) in 2017. The designer then spun off a simpler game, 曇天/斬合 Tactics (Donten no Kiriai Tactics) to make it easier to learn the game, and republished this edition as 曇天/斬合 Legends for intermediate and experienced players. It is available free as a Print 'n' Play game to download.
Two Samurais duel, using basic movement cards and two special attacks each round. The duel continues, round after round, until one of the Samurai succumbs to their wounds.
The players take a basic deck of six cards, and two special cards from a set of five. Players set up the duelling positions, with the Samurai initially being two steps apart, and then each secretly chooses a hand card face-down. When they are ready, the cards are turned up.
The basic cards involve the Samurai advancing or retreating, and adopting different stances. If the Samurai move close enough together, and onto the same spot, then a strike might happen. But the Samurai switch between being in a Standing stance, and a Ready stance. So an attack can only be made when the Samurai is Ready, otherwise the player falls back to Standing.
Basic attacks can be made repeatedly, the card goes back to the player's hand when used. But the Special card attacks are used only once a round, and then discarded.
A round ends when a successful strike is made, and damage is shown on the attacking card. The player struck loses hit points. The decks are re-sorted and the players gain two Special cards again.
The first player to lose all their health loses the duel.
