From the Website:
Thanks for investing in Build Your Own Business (BYOB), the game that lets the Player fulfill the American dream of owning and operating businesses. More than a decade of research and development led to the creation of this best new game in America and the World. One, two, or four Players play BYOB.

Playing BYOB presents the Player with the ups and downs of the typical startup business and gives motivated Players a chance to try their hand at “reaching the top.” Players select to invest from the specific business types in the Business Title Cards included in BYOB or create custom businesses with the blank Business Title Cards provided.

No matter the type(s) of business chosen, the goal in each of BYOB’s Five Phases, beginning with Phase 1, is to make the right management decisions to maximize the initial investment in each one. A business investment is “maximized” when it becomes a Preferred Asset on a Raw Land Parcel owned by the Player. Phase 1 is a game in itself. At the end of Phase 1, Players may move on to the subsequent Phases, suspend play to a future time, or quit the Game.
