The Sortie of the Prince of Wales and Repulse December 1941

Operation Matador is a historical simulation game recreating the Allied attempt to intercept the Japanese transports heading for the Malay peninsula during the opening hours of the Pacific half of the Second World War.

This game as two components a strategic move using a map of the pacific covering the Gulf of Siam and South China Sea, specifically covering Indochina with city of Saigon and Malaya with the city of Singapore. The ship to ship combats are conducted on a small hex map.

Victory points are assigned for the number of destroyed enemy air units, submarines, transports destroyers units destroyed. In addition points are allocated for shore bombardment and any damage to enemy carrier or battlecruisers. If the Repulse or Prince of Wales are able to leave the south or south west map edge.
