On June 9th 1800 Ott, with 17 000 men et 35 guns, met Lannes in front of Casteggio. The French, outnumbered 3 to 1, fell back, but Victr's division of 6000 men arrived just in time to check the Austrians assault.Lannes swung over the attack and in a sharp fight, routed Ott, who suffered 4000 casualties. French losses totaled 500. Lannes later became the Duc de Montebello.
Montebello 1800 is the sixth battle of the "Jours de Gloire" series, which is dedicated to the celebration of Napoléon's victories 200th anniversary .
