Beschreibung
Crossword Rummy is a word card game that appeared in 1942 or earlier. Its deck of solitaire-sized cards (2.5" x 1.75") include 55 letter cards and 3 wild cards. The rules book has roles for these games:
CROSSWORD RUMMY
During your turn you play cards that add a word to a growing crossword on the table, or draw a card. The first player to play all cards from their hand gets the points on all the cards of the other players. First to 250 points wins.
MEMORY WORDGAME
A version of Concentration. All the cards are spread out face down on the table. During your turn you reveal 4 cards, and if you can spell a 3- or 4-letter word you keep its cards and turn the rest face down. When all cards are used or no other words can be made, the player with the most cards wins.
WORD CASINO
Like Logomachy or Casino. Four cards are played face up, and 4 cards dealt to each player. On your turn you take a card from your hand and either make a word with it and cards on the table, or leave it face up on the table. When all hands are played out, deal 4 more to each player. When the deck is gone and all hands emptied, the player with the most cards wins.
WORD POKER
Five cards are dealt to each player, who may then exchange up to three of them at a cost of -10 points per card. The player who can make the longest, most-points word gets 10 points for each unused card of the other players. First to 250 wins.
WORD SOLITAIRE
Like Canfield solitaire, with 28 cards in 7 piles, and then revealing the rest one at a time. From the visible cards you can make new words and add to previous words.
