Hyper Light Flicker is a tabletop adaptation of Hyper Light Drifter for 1-2 players.
In this dexterity cooperative skirmish player takes on a role of a Wanderer who seeks for a cure for their sickness. You will explore distant lands, encounter unfriendly denizens, find allies and gather good memories along the way. Game uses a combination of flicking movement and deterministic action system to deliver a fluid and visceral gameplay.
Hyper Light Flicker is focused on four main concepts from the source video game:
Fluid traversal. You don't spend action points to move on a grid. Instead you flick your Wanderer to get across a chasm or to leap into a fight.
Visceral combat. You don't roll dice in a hope for a hit. If you can reach your target you instantly deliver a blow. Fighting in Hyper Light Flicker is about a consideration for the right moment to attack.
One against many. You don't cut through cannon fodder. Each Denizen has an equal footing with your Wanderer, however the game gives you a fair chance to survive against a dozen of opponents.
Fast pace resolution. You don't consider a dedicated turn of your opponents. Action/Reactions Cards weaves responses on your choices in the flow of the game.
The game allows to play a sequence of various scenarios or to setup a random encounter on a 20″×20″ table surface.
