Ste. Mere-Eglise is a solitaire game that was included in the August 2020 issue of Gakken Historical Images Magazine.
Ste. Mere-Eglise is a single-player game that focuses on the "Battle of the US Airborne Forces" as part of the Normandy Landings. It recreates the parachute/glider landings of the US 82nd and 101st Airborne Divisions, and the advance and establishment of a beachhead by the US 4th Infantry Division, which landed at Utah Beach, during the Normandy Landings from June 6th to 7th, 1944. This successful operation is recreated over a total of eight turns using a simple area system.
The magazine also includes the game Battle for Normandy, also designed by Yamazaki. The map for it is on the opposite side of the Ste. Mere-Eglise map. Counters for both games are on the same sheet, and the rules for each game are found in the same rulebook.
