Beschreibung
Poznańczycy is a game depicting heavy fighting between Polish insurrectionists and German army during Greater Poland uprising of 1918–1919. The game also illustrates the struggle between European powers standing to lose influence or territory after ending of World War I that affected position of both Poland and Germany during the Posnanian War.
Players take on the role of commanders of Polish insurrectionists and build both military and political forces to achieve three strategic objectives of their choice building up an uprising campaign. At the same time each player also commands the German forces and harrasses the opponents in order to slow down progress of their campaign or successfully prevent them from realizing the campaign by eliminating their insurrectionists forces.
The game does not start at certain point in time during the Posnanian War. The timeline strongly depends on types of objectives that players pick up for their campaigns. Decks are built around campaigns composed of carefully selected objectives combined with units, commanders, maneuvers, influences and events supporting reaching of those objectives. Effective decks are balanced with cards representing German forces slowing opponent's campaign progress down and cards that prevent player's campaign progress from being slowed down.
The first player to achieve all the objectives of his / her campaign wins the game and is always ranked first. The player whose insurgent units have been eliminated loses the game and is always ranked last. In case of three players game the rank is based on campaign progress and strength of insurrectionists forces led by the players.
