This is a simple children's card game played along the same principles as "Old Maid." It includes 19 pairs of cards, each featuring a character from Joel Chandler Harris' Uncle Remus stories - Brer Fox, Brer B'ar, Brer Buzzard, Brer Gater, Brer Tarrypin, and so on — as well as a single Brer Rabbit card (the equivalent of the Old Maid).
The cards' modern appeal lies primarily in the beautifully lithographed color illustrations.
This NOT the same game as Roberts Brothers' 1910 game of the same name. However, Parker sold this game simultaneously under two titles at different price points/quality levels: "The Game of Brer Rabbit" for 30 cents, and (starting in 1901) "The Game of Uncle Remus" for 25 cents.
