Disney Rocket game is a 1960's Japanese variation of Pachisi. The game board features 4 Walt Disney characters which players start by placing their tokens on. Players then move around the board by the roll of a dice in a clockwise direction and up a straight to reach their goal line.
Variations to the traditional Parchisi are an added shortcut using a colored rocket and advantages of landing on a particular colored square.
The game box shows Disney characters on a TWA rocket. Erik Voskull, in his book 'Before Mario',(2014) explains that Nintendo obtained a licence in 1959 to produce games featuring Walt Disney characters and themes.
Also in the first half of the 1960s Nintendo introduced a cursive style logo as seen on the back of the playing board. This logo was used on Nintendo's earliest boardgames.
