The battle of Ayacucho was the last big and important clash or arms between the Royalist (defenders of Spanish Monarchy) and the Patriots ( American pro-independence troops) in December 9th of 1824 in Peru. The result of this decisive battle was the victory of the patriots and the independence of Spanish America and the consequent end of the Spanish Empire. Uses a game system rarely seen in wargames, suitable for the battles of Spanish America, which are like Napoleonic pocket battles. On their turns, players must activate Division generals who then can move the battalions along the marked positions for each one. Then combat takes places while players may use the event cards to surprise the enemy and modify the results. The battle ends when the morale of one of the armies reaches cero, and the other army will be the winner. —description from the designer
