A exciting encircle game for 2 players played in a 4x4 grid with a few special spaces.
The aim of the game is to encircle the opponent in 21 turns so that he is unable to move.
Setup:
The five blue pawns are set up in the 4x4 grid in the spaces with a single circle at one corner of the board. The green pawn is started in the opposite corner in a space with a double circle. This circular field markings apply only to the starting positions.
Movement:
The player with the green pawn starts and counts his turns. He may move orthogonality (forward, backward, up or down) and diagonally. The blue pawn may only move move orthogonality. Turns are take alternately, moving always only one pawn. Skipping over another pawn is not allowed.
Object:
The player with the blue pawns must now try to encircle his opponent so that he can not move anymore. If he can do that in at last 21 turns, he's the winner. Otherwise, the other player has won.
Trivia:
"Zingeln" is a non-existent short form of "umzingeln", meaning encircling in german.
