Backrooms TCG (2023)

The Backrooms is an eerie and otherworldly realm that exists just beneath the surface of our own mundane world. This strange and fearsome place can only be accessed through a phenomenon known as no-clipping, where one seems to fall through the world into this bizarre liminal space.

In this solitaire trading card game, you are a Wanderer, one of the unexpected explorers of the initial Lobby Level you've fallen into. You play through a deck of cards called the Pull Pile, which houses all manner of strange creatures, twisting pathways, and special items that can help you survive in this impossible place.

The ultimate goal: Escape. You must go from room to room, finding unfriendly entities to defeat for a chance to flip the Position Token and possibly gain a precious Painite Gem that will allow you to enter the Golden Stairs and escape.

The Wanderer will perform an Action Round to pick up an item and engage with entities both Friendly and Unfriendly, and then perform a Movement Round where they will travel the Backrooms to uncover new rooms, items, and entities. This continues until one of the following occurs: the player runs out of their Deck in Hand which represents their stamina, runs out of Sanity points and goes insane, or gathers the Painite and finds the Golden Stairs to escape for the win.
