L'enfer de la bibliotheque ("The Hell of the Library") offers the possibility to play with the 7 Deadly Sins. The 3 Helpers counters are replaced during the set up by 7 Deadly Sins tiles. Two stages are added:
Third Hour - Forgiveness: in this step, the Copyist can ask another player for forgiveness by offering his Material (Lectern). In exchange, he turns over a Sin Tile used earlier in the game. He is forgiven.
Fourth Hour - Temptation: In this stage, a Copyist may use one or more sins on his turn. Each sin is a one-time use and offers a powerful power:
Acedia: your Copist can draw a Sketch by placing it wherever he wishes on his Scroll regardless of placement constraints. He must spend his Inks and earns the Illumination points of the placed Tile.
Avaritia: your Copyist saves his Ink and can execute 2 Sketches without providing the necessary Ink. You do not earn the Illumination points.
Gula : your Copyist takes 5 Inks at random from the bag.
Invidia : your Copyist steals three Sketches of his choice from the Scriptorium and places them in his personal supply.
Ira : your Copyist destroys another Copyist's Material ; it is discarded but the sketches are kept and join the Copyist's personal reserve at the end of the day.
Luxuria: your Copist's piece moves to the square of the Copist's piece in front of it.
Superbia : each golden Ink from his reserve spent gives 3 additional Illumination points to your Copyist. Spent inks are returned to the bag.
At the end of the game, unforgiven sins cause you to lose illumination points.
