Fried Potatoes – Original Edition
OverviewA fast-paced card game of tricks, bluffing, and total chaos.
Fried Potatoes is a quick, strategic card game where every round builds towards a single, high-stakes showdown. You’ll play numbered potato cards in four colours, trying to win tricks, but only the last trick matters. Win that one, and you avoid penalty points. Lose it, and into the fryer you go.
Specialty cards flip the game on its head. The Hot Ketchup Card burns away all colour, the round becomes colourless, and the highest card wins. But don’t count on strength alone: The Lucky Loser can still turn the weakest card into a winning play when you least expect it.
You can also raise the stakes mid-turn by declaring a Fry Your Opponent move. This forces opponents to make a tough choice: fold and skip the round, or stay in and risk it all. Use it when you’re confident you’ll win, or when you want to bluff your opponents out of the round.
It’s a game of psychology and timing. Do you play your strongest card early to take control, or bluff your way through and save your best for last? Will you hold back a specialty card to surprise everyone in the final round?
