"Heinzelmännchen" are a mythical race of creatures, appearing in a tale connected with the city of Cologne in Germany akin to gnomes, or elves.
According to a die throw, players move in turn on an abstracted board of Cologne to visit specific spaces (craftsman's workshops). For the first 4 spaces, the earlier they arrive, the fewer points they are rewarded, for the last space, the reward is the other way around and the players are rewarded more points.
If 2 players are in the same quarter of Cologne (a "Veedel"), they must fight by throwing a die who may stay and who must return to his home base.
After the first player arrived at the 5th space, one of 4 cards are drawn to trigger finally the end. The player with the most points wins.
