Scrummy is a word card game, packed in a red velvet bag. Its deck has 150 letter cards, with point values of 5, 10, or 15, and 22 specials cards -- Wild, and Lose a Word Wild worth 50 points each, and Lose a Turn worth 20 points.

The game is played like Rummy. 12 cards are dealt to each player, and a turn consists of: A) drawing a card from the deck or discard pile; B) either playing a word from the hand, or adding to a word on the table to make a new word, or passing; and C) discarding a card. Wild cards can be used as any letter; Lose a Turn and Lose a Word take effect if and when discarded at the end of the turn, with the player choosing who loses a turn or a word.

When a player ends their turn discarding the last card of their hand, the round ends; players score their words on the table, and subtract the value of cards left in their hand. The first player to get over 500 points wins the game.

There are also rules variations for Kid Scrummy (easier requirements), Super Scrummy (harder requirements), Instant Scrummy (timed play allowing multiple words in a turn), and Super Instant Scrummy.
