"ColdWar: 1983 is a set of skirmish wargame rules for section and platoon level battles between NATO and Warsaw Pact troops using 28mm scale miniatures and including the odd AFV (this is not the set of rules to fight the Battle of Fulda Gap!).
The rules can also be used for post-apocalyptic games where the Third World War has entered a stalemate period following some limited nuclear and chemical exchange (as in James Rouch’s The Zone series of books or GDW’s Twilight 2000 role-playing game), and for recreating some of the period conflicts involving regular troops such as the Falklands and Afghanistan.
